Rev. Frank Thompson

1922 - 1935

Frank Thompson was remembered as a 'fatherly' character - for his visiting and for his regular attendance at the many activities which took place at the church, not necessarily to take part but to encourage the groups.

In June 1922 a company of the 'Girl's Guildry' was formed, numbering 60 girls. A few months later in December a 'Boys Guild' was formed, and a 'Boys' Life Brigade' was founded in 1925. Other organisations catering for young people were 'Christian Endeavour' and the 'Young Peoples Fellowship'.

In 1928 the 'Missionary Council' was formed and later that year Mr. & Mrs Thompson went to the Baptist World Congress in Toronto. Rev.Thompson resigned in 1935.
