Rev. Charles Spurgeon

1907 - 1917

The Rev. Charles Spurgeon, son of C.H. Spurgeon, ministered through most of the Great War.

There are records of candlelit services because of the black out which inspired the members to 'think how wonderful heaven must be.' He left in 1917 to take up the oversight of Spurgeon's orphanage and the church was without a minister until May 1918.
