Mission
Find out about the Missionary Bursary Fund.
World mission has become increasingly important to the church in recent years. We actively seek opportunities to reach out in three key areas: to the poor, through longstanding partnerships, and through individuals. We support mission in prayer, going and giving - Holland Road's mission budget has accounted for a third of the total church expenditure.
We praise God for the amazing way funds were released for world mission on the gift day in May 2007.
Wales: South Wales is one area where we have focused our mission activity, working in partnership with over 30 churches in the Valleys. Read more here...
Missionaries: We support a number of missionaries sent out from Holland Road to work in different parts of the world. Read more here...
Projects: From our friend Mola's blind school in the Congo, to theological training in the Czech Republic; from a beach school for tsunami victims in Sri Lanka to church leader development in Ethiopia, there are many projects Holland Road supports in worldwide mission. We are excited about new support for First Gospel (bible translation for an unreached people group), and always keep an emergency fund so the church can respond to disaster situations.
Partnerships: We have close partnerships and links with many other Christian organizations, mission agencies and churches, including generations of support for BMS World Mission, and a strong working relationship with New Hope Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2007 we visited partners in Wales, North Africa and Ethiopia. Find out more about our links here...
Faith in Action is a ministry sending clothes to an orphanage in Malawi and occasionally other places in need. If you have clean unwanted clothes in good condition - particularly children's clothes - leave them in a bag in the back central-left pew in church (as you face the front).
